It’s already allowed me to bridge fears and academically see the international historical context of what I have decided to design my life around. It’s without a doubt an incredible opportunity to re-examine and broaden my skills in this truly experimental and highly collaborative framework, overseen by such an accomplished faculty.

The overall aim, of course, is continuous growth and development and already I have seen the fruits of working on, for example, Ibsen’s A Doll’s House, in which I played the character of Nils Krogstad. Or building a character for a Drag Race, in which I ‘played’ Barbara Boobidybabbidy to the sweet tunes of Mariah Carey’s ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’. The emphasis throughout the year, though, is on devised and ensemble work as we are advancing Drag show, Barbara Boobidybabbidyour understanding of performance but also of writing and directing.

The 15 of us have worked together to devise a Christmas Carol and countless physical theatre pieces, and next term we’ll begin to start working on Prometheus Bound which we’ll take to Greece. What an adventure!
